The first session was held on March 27. Attendees came from as far away as Hamilton. After a day of training the group was given an assignment for the second session which was held on May 29. Each group prepared a presentation from assigned chapters in the ToB for Teens Leader’s Guide. The variety of style and ideas from the participants was fascinating. It was an exciting and rewarding day. I’ll let some of the participants share their thoughts on the day:
What was your main reason for attending the Workshop?
- To learn tips and skills which can help me be able to present Theology of the Body to others.
- To learn how to teach and share Theology of the Body with others. It was also a great activity to do with my wife.
- I wanted to learn how to give the message in Theology of the Body to teenagers
- To use it with the youth group
What is your overall opinion of the Workshop?
- I feel the workshop was worthwhile.
- It is a great thing that this has been organized for the purpose of training those who want to teach ToB.
- It was great. Very helpful, well run, loved the opportunity to present. Loved hands on approach
- Excellent workshop for people who want to become trainers because it is critical to evangelize nowadays.
- Very useful because society is teaching young people wrong things about their bodies.
- It is an opportunity to train the trainer and be active about learning and teaching.
- Excellent. Very informative. Gives me hope.
What did you find most helpful about the Workshop?
- Ability to see different points of view
- To practice the presentation and to listen to the other groups.
- The leaders, the people attending the workshop and the materials
- It has allowed me to be confident about learning and teaching a taboo topic.
- I think it is helpful to see how people use their creativity to express different topics in the workshop.
- All that I learned about the topic.
- Practice presenting, learning the topic.
- It was the second session – watching everyone else’s presentations. I learned about different approaches and how to better my presentation – should the time come..
